County Cork in the south west of Ireland is the largest and most southerly county. It is a county of contrasts with its long rugged coastline in the west to the beautiful landscapes full of vibrant colours.
Cork is the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland and boasts the second largest natural harbour in the world. Built on the River Lee it has many bridges spanning the city centre. It is full of exciting architecture, bustling pubs and world class restaurants. A trip to Cork City Gaol and Blackrock Castle Observatory are highly recommended. A few miles outside Cork city is Blarney castle home of the Blarney stone, the gift of eloquence is supposed to be granted to those that kiss it.
