About County Cavan

County Cavan is one of three counties in the province of Ulster that are not in Northern Ireland. It is known as the lake country and is full of natural treasures. The source of the River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland, is from the southern slope of Cuilcagh the highest mountain in the Breifne area. Cavan Town is the main town and lies midway between Dublin in the south and Belfast in the north.
