About County Kildare

County Kildare is located to the southwest border of Dublin in the province of Leinster. Kildare is well known for it's sporting, hunting and horse racing with two famous racecourses. The Curragh racecourse and Naas racecourse are home to many racing festivals. The county is mainly open grasslands, lush green pastures, gently rolling hills and large areas of ancient bogland.
