About County Kilkenny
County Kilkenny is located in the province of Leinster in the south-east of the island of Ireland. County Kilkenny takes its name from the lovely city of Kilkenny, which is a beautiful well preserved medieval town with many historical buildings and fine narrow lanes dotted with shops. The river Nore flows all the way through the county of Kilkenny and the river Suir forms the boundary with County Waterford to the south. County Kilkenny is one of Ireland's most historic counties with many castles and abbeys.
