About Ireland
It’s said that Ireland, once visited, is never forgotten and the Irish landscape has a mythic resonance. The countries history is almost tangible and its people seem put on earth expressly to restore faith in humanity. Ireland's history is reflected in its warm hospitality, delicious traditional Irish food and drink, brilliant Irish folk music, and beautiful landscape.

Travelling to and in Ireland

Airports

Ireland has two airports, Dublin and Shannon. Both have direct flights available from all of London’s major airports, many European airports and America.

Ferry

Ferry service between Dublin and Holyhead in Wales and between Rosslare and Fishguard and Pembroke in Wales.
Ferry service from Cork to Clerbourg, St Malo and Le Havre in France.

Getting Around

Travelling by car is the best way to see Ireland, as some sights are not served by public transport. Driving is on the left like the British. Cycling and walking is also a very good way of seeing Ireland’s beautiful country.
Public transport can be quite expensive, neither the railway or bus service run as frequently as you would like and there are significant gaps in the routes.
